David Okereke offers tips on how Cremonese, who currently occupies the 18th spot in the Italian Serie A standings, can avoid being demoted.
Nigerian-born football player. David Okereke, has offered his opinions on how his team can avoid being demoted to Serie B.
The recently promoted Italian team has not been at their best this season, having earned just points in 15 matches played.
The Cremona-based squad is winless so far this year, having tied seven matches and lost eight times.
However, In their previous five games, the team headed by Massimiliano Alvini has lost twice and drew three times.
After his training session at the Arvedi sports complex, Okereke, who signed a three-year contract with the Gray and Reds last summer for a cost of about €10 million, spoke with the journalists and remarked,
“Apart from the results we’re getting, I’m very happy to be back in Italy and I’m really happy here at Cremona. What I want is to play as much as possible and find the trust of my teammates.” he said as quoted by Cremonasera.it
The 25-year-old said that his new squad’s performance has been lacking, but he also believes that collaboration may help his team succeed.
“To save ourselves we’ll have to follow the path traced by the coach, work and commit ourselves even more than we did in the first leg. Only by working together can we reach our goal.” Okereke said.
The right-footed attacker has played in 15 games for his team since moving to the Stadio Giovanni Zini and has three goals to his credit.
