Ancelotti is looking to revamp his Real Madrid attack, and a Super Eagles striker has caught his eye
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly informed club President Florentino Perez that he wants the services of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen.
Osimhen has been outstanding for Napoli in the last two seasons. The Super Eagles hitman was involved in 24 goals in 32 appearances for the Partenopeans.
This season, the 23-year-old striker has taken it a notch higher, registering nine goals and three assists in just thirteen games.
Osimhen’s brilliance has not gone unnoticed, as he has been linked with some top European teams.
Real Madrid appear to be one of the top contenders for Osimhen’s signature, as The Sun reports that coach Ancelotti has told club President Perez that he wants the Nigerian at the Spanish Capital.
Ancelotti wants to revamp his forward line especially as Karim Benzema, 34, who is nearing the twilight of his career has struggled with injuries this season.
In Benzema’s absence, Ancelotti has often opted to play Eden Hazard as a false nine – a tactic that has not particularly yielded dividends.
Dominican Republic forward Mariano Diaz is still at the club, but the Italian tactician has not shown much faith in the 29-year-old.
Signing Osimhen could be a tough task, one that could see Real Madrid break the bank.
The Super Eagles star is currently valued at €65million as per transfermarkt. However, Napoli may hold out for a fee of around €100-€120million.
