After hobbling off at the Stadio Olimpico during the weekend, Osimhen is a doubt for Napoli’s clash against Liverpool
Napoli manager, Luciano Spalletti has provided updates on their game against Liverpool with his star forward facing fitness concerns.
Osimhen sustained a muscle strain against Lazio during the weekend but is battling hard to return against the Reds who have looked far from convincing this season.
The Nigerian forward will look forward to having his second Champions League campaign after playing in the competition for the first time at Lille.
Osimhen also scored his first European goal against Chelsea in the Champions League and scored a brace against Leicester in the Europa League last season.
He has a decent goalscoring return against English opposition and will be looking to continue his impressive streak.
“If tomorrow he manages to kick (a ball), and therefore today's progress is confirmed, then he will play” Spalletti said.
Osimhen is just one of a few Nigerians playing in the Champions League this season and considers the stage as the biggest for his career and one of the reasons he didn’t push for a Napoli exit.
