“It’s different with Nigeria” – Algeria coach reveals plan for Super Eagles

After defeating the Syli Nationale on Friday, Algeria will face the Nigerian national side on the 27th of September

Algeria coach Djamel Belmadi has said the Super Eagles game will be taken differently in comparison with their approach against Guinea.

Islam Slimani’s lone goal made the difference for the Algerians against the National Elephants and Belmadi has said there will be less experiments against the 2013 African champions.

Algeria and Nigeria both suffered painful World Cup misses from Cameroon and Ghana respectively and will both be playing for pride and ranking when they face in Oran on Tuesday.

“We took a lot of positives from the Guinea game, but Nigeria is a different game,” Belmadi told reporters.

“I will play with players who are used to playing with each other.”

As part of preparations for the game, the Super Eagles faced the Algerian B team and played a 2-2 draw. In what was a game better dominated by the Nigerians, a blooper from goalkeeper Maduka Okoye and a soft penalty gave the Algerians two goals in the game.

Alex Iwobi and Cyriel Dessers scored Nigeria’s two goals on the night and are also expected to start when the Super Eagles face the main Algerian team at the Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran.
