Alex Iwobi was in superb form as Everton defeated West Ham on Sunday

Iwobi has assisted three of Everton’s last four Premier League goals and he also made Neal Maupay’s goal against the Hammers.

Impressed by the Nigerian midfielder’s display on Sunday, Premier League legend and the league’s all-time top scorer Alan Shearer picked the Super Eagles star as one of his picks of the week.

Iwobi was roundly hailed for his good game against the Londoners as he stood a solid presence in their middle.

Reacting to the pick ratified by the Premier League, the former Arsenal midfielder tweet-quoted the post by the Premier League with the caption, “honoured”.

Since the appointment of Frank Lampard last season, Iwobi has found new vein of brilliance and consistency.

He has been hailed as arguably Everton’s best player this season as he’s always massively involved in their game play.

In Shearer’s list, Iwobi was deployed on the left side of the central midfield with Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka, Fulham’s Palhinha and Kevin De Bruyne.

Other players in the team were Bournemouth’s Neto, Manchester City’s Ruben Dias, Arsenal’s William Saliba, James Tarkovsky in the defense while the attack had Gabriel Jesus, Son and Jack Grealish.
