The Nigeria international hit a European landmark in Slavia Prague’s impressive away draw on Thursday
Slavia Prague captain has labelled Nigerian forward Peter Olayinka as the side’s best player during their Europa League clash with Sivasspor in midweek.
Olayinka opened the scoring for the visitors with only four minutes on the clock at the Yeni Sivas 4 Eylül Stadyumu in Sivas.
Israel’s Dia Sabi’A equalised for Sivasspor before the end of the first half, but Slavia held on to claim a crucial point in their first group match of the European campaign.
With his goal, Olayinka becomes Slavia’s all-time top scorer on the European with 12 goals, going on par with the legendary Tomáš Došek.
Aside from his goal, Olayinka was also impressive, completing 83% of his passes while making four key passes.
And Czech Republic defender Tomáš Holeš insists the Super Eagles winger was the best player on the day for the former Czech champions.
“Peter Olayinka was our best player in this match,” Holeš told the media.
“He did a lot of work, scored a goal, and was unpleasant for the opponent. He created other situations. I congratulate him on that.”
In four years at Slavia, Olayinka has won four league titles and two Cup honours.
