In the second half, the Super Eagles kept pushing for the needed impetus and had one in the 76th minute through Zulkifilu Muhammed. The game saw Nigeria upping the tempo and had their reward in the 90th minute through NPFL top scorer, Chijioke Akuneto to draw Nigeria level.
At 2-2, the game was tied and it meant they’d go into penalty shootouts.
Ghana won on penalties 3-2 and have qualified for the CHAN tournament, with Nigeria missing out for the second straight time.
