“Wide of the mark” – Super Eagles striker will not join Manchester United this summer

The Red Devils were rumoured to be preparing a late bid for the Nigerian international, but it may be a little too late

Per transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Victor Osimhen will not be joining Manchester United from Napoli during this transfer window.

Man United, along with half of Europe’s biggest clubs, are longtime admirers of Super Eagles striker, Osimhen.

But the Red Devils were reportedly preparing a late multi-million euro move for the Nigerian international after facing difficulty in their pursuit of Ajax winger Antony.

United eventually made a breakthrough in their negotiations with Ajax for Antony and have since signed the tricky Brazilian winger.

Still, reports from the Italian media suggest that Manchester United are not done with their transfer dealings and could still sign Osimhen on transfer deadline day.

But respected transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reports that Osimhen will not be joining United this summer.

The Italian journalist maintained that rumours linking Osimhen to Old Trafford on transfer deadline day are ‘wide of the mark’.

Man United manager Erik Ten Hag appears contented with the quality of attackers at his disposal.

The Red Devils can call on the talents of Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, 37, Frenchman Anthony Martial, English forward Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho.
