Nottingham Forest got their first win of the season on their return to the Premier League in just their second game
Sixteen players including Emmanuel Dennis and Taiwo Awoniyi have walked through the doors to the City Ground and The Reds are building a solid outfit.
Steve Cooper, the man in charge of one of the most touching and emotive Premier League stories in recent time and head coach of Nottingham Forest said they are in the Premier League to win.
Ahead of their clash against Alex Iwobi’s Everton at Goodison Park, Cooper said they feel good as they have had all the week to prepare.
“We were pleased to get off the mark at home last weekend and there were a lot of good things to come from the game,” said Cooper.
“We will focus on our ideas” – Cooper
Cooper’s Nottingham Forest had a week to relish against West Ham as their preparation and bravery met good fortunes.
The vocal Reds fans were also on hand to cheer the team on throughout the game.
“The feeling for the supporters after that first win back was the most important thing and we talked about that with the players in the build-up,” Cooper told Nottingham Forest TV.
“We’ve had a good week of preparation and with no midweek game we’ve been able to spend a lot of time out on the training pitch together and that’s also important for building on our team spirit.
“Any game in the Premier League is difficult but certainly away from home against Everton will always be a tough fixture but one we’ll commit to.
“Goodison Park is an iconic stadium in this division and always creates a good atmosphere, so we’ve got to go there knowing that will be the case but we go with good confidence following the work we’ve put in this week.
“We try and only think about ourselves, we respect the opponents and we are aware of the strengths Everton have but we’ve got to focus on our ideas and we want to win every game we play in.”
