WATCH: Falconets go wild as Ahmed Musa calls, makes promises

Falconets celebrate Flourish's fine finish against France

The Nigerian national team captain contacted the girls following their impressive performance in their opening match at Costa Rica 2022

Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa has called the Falconets to encourage and motivate them following their impressive start to their journey in Costa Rica.

The Nigeria under-20 girls shocked bookmakers by defeating European champions France 1-0 in their first Group C match at the 2022 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Teenage striker Flourish Sabastine finished an expertly crafted team move in the 85th minute to grab all the three points at stake against the highly-rated French girls.

Fans and analysts have showered applauds on the Falconets following their impressive feat.

But Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa took a step further by video-calling the girls to celebrate them for making the country proud.

The young girls went wild on seeing the former Leicester City star, with some hailing him as the ‘Senior man'.

Musa, Nigeria's most capped player in history, charged the Falconets to keep their winning attitude and maintain the momentum in their remaining group matches.

The Fatih Karagumruk attacker promised to give the girls a ‘big surprise' gift for their endeavours to which they responded with a shout of joy.

Falconets will qualify for the next round of the World Cup with a win over Korea on matchday two. A clash against Canada awaits the African giants on matchday three.
