Super Eagles star was impressive for Watford as he was voted in the team of the week for Week 1 of the Championship

Emmanuel Dennis has been voted in the Championship Team of the Week for week 1 after impressing in the Hornets’ 1-0 win against Sheffield United on Monday night.

The former Club Brugge forward was the only player from Watford in the team of the week with his other compatriots either not dressed for the game at all or sitting on the bench.

William Troost-Ekong was on the bench throughout the game while Maduka Okoye and Samuel Kalu weren’t listed at all.

Dennis, linked to a move away from the club featured in a 4-4-1-1 team of the week formation.

The players selected for the team of the week was selected based on Whoscored ratings for the matchday.

What has Dennis said about his club future?

Dennis in a recent interview with Skysports revealed details about his expectations over his club future after being linked with an exit all summer.

“I enjoyed the game today, we won the game, so I’m happy, I’m still a player of the team, so I just do my job, and we’ll see what happens,” he said after the win against Sheffield United.

Watford fans have also begged the Super Eagles star to stay at the club and play the Championship but a Premier League offer is expected to tempt the forward away from Vicarage Road.
