The Super Eagles star was the liveliest spark for the Yellow Canaries on the night, but his efforts were overshadowed by a talented Parisian side
Super Eagles forward Moses Simon played all 90 minutes as his Nantes side were destroyed 4-0 by a rampant PSG side led by Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Nantes had a fairytale campaign last season, claiming the Coupe de France for the first time in 22 years. However, they had an uphill task, as they had to contend with a star-studded PSG for the Super Cup title.
The Parisians exuded their dominance from the blast of the whistle and looked very dangerous in attack. PSG’s quality brought fruits after just 22 minutes. Messi scored the opener after a perfectly timed run and great skill to get past defenders.
PSG did not rest on their oars. Just when Nantes thought they would go into the break with a one-goal deficit, Neymar struck a perfectly placed free kick past Alban Lafont to make it 2-0.
Nantes entered the second half with purpose, but they soon lost their way. Former Real Madrid Captain scored with a backheel to make it 3-0.
Simon was the only attacking threat the Yellow Canaries had to show, as his runs always put the PSG backline in check. He could have scored later in the game but for a save by the PSG goalkeeper.
Neymar wrapped up scoring with a cheeky penalty. It ended 4-0 at the Bloomfield stadium in Tel Aviv.
