Eucharia Uche was a former coach of the Super Falcons and a former national team star

As the Falconets file out against Netherlands on Sunday night in a quarterfinal game of the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup, a former coach of the Super Falcons has urged the team not to look at big names as they chase glory.

Uche said the team has proven its quality and has enough players to do the job against any team.

Nigeria defeated France, South Korea and Canada to emerge group winners and set up a clash against the Netherlands.

Esther Onyenezide who is on three goals has been one of the best players in the tournament. The team has kept it tight at the back also, as they have conceded just once so far in Costa Rica.

That brilliant group stage is however set to be tested again as they face Netherlands in the quarterfinal and Uche urged the team to play to strength.

“The Falconets have reached the semifinals (sic) of the U-20 Women’s World Cup and it is expected of them to attain that feat or even surpass it. So, I believe they can do it again,” Uche said per The PUNCH.

“This is not the time to respect any country; they should not look at big names, but go all out and deliver. We have good girls in that category, who are willing to make the nation proud. Nothing less is expected from them than to make the nation proud.”
