The Super Eagles defender has been solid for the Welsh side, but he suffered a painful setback on Thursday
Super Eagles defender Jamilu Collins had to be taken off in the 9th minute of his Cardiff City’s 0-0 draw at West Brom on Thursday after he sustained an injury, but his manager Steve Morison is full of praise for him.
Collins left German football to join Cardiff City in the English Championship, and the 28-year-old has taken to English football like fish to water.
The Super Eagles left-back started all three of Cardiff City’s games before the Thursday clash at West Brom. And he has been decent in all those games.
Unfortunately, Collins suffered a setback as he was taken off whilst in pain very early in Thursday’s game against the Baggies.
Cardiff boss Morison is yet to know the extent of his new player’s injury, but he says the injury is a big blow, as Collins is one of the best left-backs in the Championship.
“We don’t know the extent of Collins’ injury at the minute, in all honesty,” Morison said as per Wales online.
“He will be assessed in the coming days. With all the will in the world, let’s hope it is just that he’s in really bad pain at the minute and it’s not what we suspect it might be.
“I said to the lads at half-time, ‘If you’re going to put your bodies on the line for anyone, go and do it for him, because he has been the best left-back in the league so far.”
Collins has a good injury record, so hopefully, he will not be out of action for long.
