The 28-year-old Super Eagles striker has seen much talk and few actions almost every transfer window
Many Nigerians would have expected Paul Onuachu to be the main transfer target of European clubs this summer but until now, the interests have not come as much as expected.
Onuachu’s impressive goals tally in the last three seasons is one of the best of any striker in Europe but desire for his signature has been lower than expected.
With KRC Genk always preferring to have their star forward stay back, they’d be more than willing to part with the former Midtjylland man for good money.
Why do Wolves want Onuachu?
The last three seasons has seen Onuachu score 68 times in 112 games, a return that outweighs at least a goal in every two games.
His goals return of 23 in all competitions last season was the highest in his club while he scored 35 goals in 41 games in the previous season.
Considering his massive frame and good heading ability, with an impeccable striker instinct in the small box, Onuachu possesses the qualities that can make a Premier League target man.
Although his ball-playing ability leaves little to savour, he makes up for it with good movements and a strong knack for scoring.
Onuachu has also shown the tendency to use his frame to great advantage and play as provider on some occasions.
According to Whistle FC, a verified football content handle on Twitter, Wolves may be doing a late swoop for Onuachu as Bruno Lage is believed to fancy the Nigerian forward.
What are Wolves fans saying about Onuachu?
A section of the Wolverhampton Wanderers fanbase were thrilled with the report of Onuachu’s interest and are calling for the club to get him.
