The Super Eagles star has shown great promise in recent years, and the former Juventus coach feels he just has to tweak a few things to reach his peak
Former Juventus coach Alberto Zaccheroni has urged Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen to be smarter and less instinctive when he attacks opponents’ goal.
Osimhen is one of the hottest strikers in the Serie A and Europe. After a slow start upon his €70million transfer from Lillle in 2020, the Super Eagles star picked up last season, registering 14 goals and five assists in 27 Serie A games, helping the Partenopeans to a third-place finish.
The masked Super Eagles marksman has continued in the same vein this season scoring two goals and setting up one in Napoli’s opening two games of the season.
Nonetheless, Zaccheroni who has coached some of the biggest clubs in Italy like AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus, and Lazio believes Osimhen can be better if he adjusts his game a little.
“Continuity must be found above all by Osimhen who must be less instinctive and smarter to go at opponents defenses,” Zaccheroni told La Gazzetta as per Calcio Napoli.
Luciano Spalletti’s lads have kicked off their 2022/23 season in blistering form, scoring nine goals in their first two games.
Still, they have to keep their heads in check, as the season is just in it’s opening embers. And Osimhen would also look to keep fit, to power his side to victories.
