The Grigiorossi have had a torrid start to life in the Serie A, and their poor run continued against Torino on Saturday
Super Eagles striker Cyriel Dessers supplied the assist for Leonardo Sernicola’s goal for Cremonese, but it was not enough, as they fell 2-1 to Ola Aina’s Torino side.
Cremonese lost their opening two Serie A games with close margins, and they looked to get their first win of the season at home to Torino.
Super Eagles stars Dessers and Okereke got the nod to lead the Grigiorossi attack, while Aina started in defense for Torino.
The evening turned dark too soon for Cremonese, as Nikola Vlasic put Torino ahead in the 17th minute.
The home side tried to get one back, but their efforts were insufficient. Dessers recorded a shot on target, but it was well saved by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic in the Torino goal.
Nemanja Radonjic doubled Torino’s lead in the 65th minute. However, Sernicola pulled one back for Cremonese with ten minutes to go.
Cremonese pushed to get the equalizer, but Torino maintained a strong front to see out the 2-1 victory.
The result leaves Torino in third position with seven points, but Cremonese languishes in 19th, with no points after three games.
