The Super Eagles star has spent the last two years in Russia but he is closing in on a move to one of the best leagues in Europe
Former CSKA Moscow star Alexander Grishin has justified Super Eagles forward Chidera Ejuke’s potential transfer to Hertha Berlin.
Ejuke has spent the last two years of his career in Russia, and he has made quite a mark for the Moscow giants.
The former Heerenveen man has been involved in 18 goals in 65 appearances for CSKA Moscow and has proven to be an important part of the team.
However, Ejuke is close to exiting Russia this summer, with German Bundesliga mid-table side Hertha Berlin the frontrunners to secure his services.
Former CSKA star Grishin acknowledges the quality of the 24-year-old Nigerian and believes that moving to Germany is a step up.
“I just read about Ejuke myself and frankly, I’m very surprised,” Grishin told Championat.
“I do not want him to leave, but Ejuke can also be understood.
“We don’t have European cups, and Germany is not in our league, it’s one of the best in Europe. ”
“There will be a big improvement with what he plays in Russia. The Bundesliga is stronger than the RPL, and Ejuke is a good player.”
If the deal materializes, it would be Ejuke’s first stint in Germany, as he has only played in Netherlands, Norway, and Russia.
