Super Eagles defender will in a matter of hours complete a €22m move to the Dutch giants
Calvin Bassey will be a player of Ajax officially in the coming hours, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Bassey arrived Amsterdam on Sunday ahead of a big move from Rangers.
He arrived the Netherlands alongside his agents and will undergo his medicals before signing a long-term contract.
The financial details of his contract were revealed on Saturdaywith €5m expected in add-ons on the deal.
Rangers are also expected to receive 10% of every sale of the player in the future.
Bassey, 22, joined the Gers as a free agent in 2020 after he was released by Leicester City.
The Super Eagles star and one of Nigeria’s hottest young footballers turned the corner and became one of European football’s hottest properties.
His Ajax move will see him directly replace new Manchester United signing, Lisandro Martinez after the Argentine joined the Red Devils in a €55m deal.
Bassey’s performance last season turned heads on and made him become one of Europe’s rising prospects.
