The Premier League moneybags are looking to flex their financial muscles and beat other admirers to the signing of the Nigeria international striker
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen remains firmly on the radar of English Premier League side Newcastle United with the club prepared to offer another significant amount to convince Napoli to part with their striking jewel.
Newcastle made a move for Osimhen during the January transfer window. However, with Napoli in the hunt for the Italian Serie A title, there was no chance of letting go of the club’s leading goalscorer.
And after enjoying a mixed season, scoring 14 goals for the first time in Europe’s top five leagues despite missing a large chunk of the campaign due to injuries, suspensions, and illnesses, Osimhen is wanted by the biggest clubs on the continent, including Bayern Munich.
Napoli have also recently rejected offers from Arsenal and Manchester United for the Nigerian, with the Neapolitans only willing to negotiate with admirers ready to meet their €110 million demand.
Newcastle are prepared to try again with an improved bid, but Roma (as per Area Napoli) reports that Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis will reject the offer.
De Laurentiis wants Osimhen to spend another year in Naples and help end Il Partenopei’s over three decades wait for a league triumph.
Napoli, under manager Luciano Spalletti, finished third this term behind champions AC Milan and Inter Milan.
