Nominees for the 2022 Golden Ball Award have been revealed with at least four players of Nigerian descent on the list

Tuttosport has released a list of 100 nominees for the 2022 Golden Boy Award with at least four players of Nigerian origin on the list.

Of the four Nigeria-linked players on the list, two are fully-capped German internationals with one of them recently becoming the youngest player to reach 15 appearances for Die Mannschaft.

Others have also been invited to various national teams especially at the youth level.

The four players are Udinese’s Destiny Udogie, Bayern Munich’s Jamal Musiala, new Borussia Dortmund forward, Karim Adeyemi and PSV and England U-21 winger, Noni Madueke.

Musiala and Adeyemi have been capped at the senior level for Germany and are not eligible for the Super Eagles.

Madueke and Udogie are still eligible for the Super Eagles as they are yet to play for any senior national team.

Udogie was recently invited to an Italian national team camp for national team hopefuls.

The 2022 award has last year’s winner Pedri and his Spain and Barcelona teammate, Gavi,  Real Madrid star Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Belligham, Youssouffa Moukoko and a host of others on the list.
