Former Super Eagles forward, Osaze Odemwingie has left a message of hope for Nigerians amid the bitter, gruesome killings of Catholic churchgoers in Owo, Ondo State.
Many members of St. Francis Catholic Church, Owaluwa, Owo, were gruesomely murdered on Sunday by suspected terrorists in Nigeria’s most heartbreaking news of the day.
Odemwingie, who played at several AFCON tournaments and the World Cup for Nigeria went biblical in his message of hope and comfort for Nigerians.
The former West Brom attacker tweeted with an emoji of Nigeria’s flag and added a crying display alongside a Bible quote. He quoted Romans 8:35-37.
Nigeria has been dealing with security issues for more than a decade with various terrorist organisations threatening the peace and security of the people.
While these have not affected football activities in the country, it has affected some local clubs in the troubled communities and players and officials have been victims of kidnapping in the past.
