Lillestrom looked to continue their impressive run when they traveled to the Alfheim Stadium to take on Tromso. However, Tromso proved very stubborn on the afternoon and had better chances.
The home team finally broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute through Eric Kitolano.
Lillestrom got into the second half with a different game plan, looking to catch Tromso on the counter. However, it was Matthew’s sheer brilliance that bailed them out on the hour mark.
The 25-year-old capitalized on a defensive mistake from Tromso and fired a one-time dipping shot from 40metres out, leaving Tromso goalkeeper Mads Christiansen scrambling as the ball trickled into the net.
Vetle Dragsnes gave Lillestrom the lead twelve minutes later. However, another Nigerian forward broke Lillestrom hearts in stoppage time, as he scored for Tromso to ensure it ended 2-2.
