Following an impressive season with the Gers, Aston Villa are looking to bolster their defence line this season
Calvin Bassey has become the toast of the world as he continues to soar following a successful season at Rangers.
He was named the man of the match in the cup final against Hearts of Midlothian and also made the Europa League team of the season. Bassey also starred in the Scottish League as Rangers were bettered by their arch rivals Celtic.
The Nigerian defender, however had done enough to send tongues wagging especially in the Premier League.
According to latest reports from England, Bassey may be reuniting with his former boss in Birmingham as Aston Villa are concretely interested.
Steven Gerrard is looking to improve his defense this season especially as star defender Tyrone Mings had an underwhelming season by his standard.
Bassey is expected to fight for place in the team and provide a good level of competition and also put his versatility to good effect. He can play as a left centre back or left full-back or left wing-back.
The young defender has been predicted to do great things but Rangers may not be willing to let him go just yet.
