The Asian champions already have the services of Ighalo, but they want to add more Nigerian flavor to their attack
Asian champions Al Hilal are monitoring Anthony Nwakaeme’s contract situation at Trabzonspor and could swoop in for him this summer.
Nwakaeme has cemented his legend at Trabzonspor. The 33-year-old has spent seven years at the club, but this season has been his most productive.
The former Hapoel Beer Sheva man has notched eleven goals and ten assists for the Black Sea Storm, helping them to their first league triumph in 38 years.
However, his time at Trabzon seems to be coming to an end, as he has refused to renew his contract, which runs out at the end of the season.
In the twilight of his career, Nwakaeme is demanding bigger wages, but Trabzonspor is unwilling to yield and risk losing him this summer.
According to Ajansspor, Al Hilal is monitoring his situation and could swoop in for him when his deal with the Turkish Champions-elect runs out.
If Nwakaeme moves to the Saudi Arabian side, he will unite with compatriot Odion Ighalo who has been in blistering form since he dumped Al Shabab in January. The former Watford man has twelve goals in 14 appearances for the one-time Al Hilal.
If Al Hilal pulls off the deal, they could have a ruthless Nigerian pair spearheading their frontline.
