Osimhen scored Napoli’s opener as they defeated Genoa on Sunday
The Super Eagles forward scored his 14th league goal of the season and 18th in all competitions to become the club’s 44th all-time top scorer.
Osimhen has now scored 28 goals for Napoli after scoring 10 in all competitions last season.
He overtook Petisso Bruno Pesaola and Claudio Belluci on the the list as he continues to enjoy a successful individual season.
Osimhen scored in what was another good victory for Partenopei. It was his seventh headed goal of the season and one that has now taken him ahead of his previous career best of 13 league goals at Lille.
The attacker’s opener in the 3-0 win was his fifth goal contribution in the last six games.
He missed eight games earlier in the season due to a cheekbone fracture after colliding in-air against Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
Napoli won just three times in eight games in his absence and have won nine times in the fifteen games since his return from injury.
Many have blamed his long injury spell for Napoli’s failure to mount a lengthened title challenge in the Serie A this season.
