As news of the multiple interests in the Super Eagles attacker intensifies, Napoli have spotted an almost like-for-like replacement in the Serie A
Should the Partneopei decide to cash in on Victor Osimhen this season and budge to the pressures coming from the Premier League, Sassuolo and Azzurris striker, Gianluca Scamacca has been listed as replacement.
The Sassuolo forward emerged to be of interest to Napoli owner Aurelio De Laurentiis in today’s report on La Gazetta Dello Sport (via TuttoNapoli).
Scamacca was brilliant for Sassuolo this season as he scored 16 goals in 36 games.
Lanky, gangly, effervescent and relentless, Scamacca has grown in the Serie A this season and is a subject of interest across the Italian top flight.
De Laurentiis is reluctant to sell Osimhen but won’t play hard ball if a bid of €100m is submitted for the Nigerian.
With Osimhen also not desperate to move, it will take a concrete offer for the former Lille man to change his mind as he’s settled in Naples and is loved by the fans.
Scamacca has been invited for the second time to the Italian national team ahead of the UEFA Nations League tournament.
Also seen as a potential replacement for Osimhen is Chelsea attacker, Armando Broja.
The Albanian forward starred for Southampton in the just-concluded season and earned rave reviews for his performances.
Broja may also get a return to Chelsea as he looks to impress manager, Thomas Tuchel.
