Super Falcons star has won the Pichichi for being the top scorer in the Spanish Women’s League but has also endured a difficult season
Asisat Oshoala was confirmed as the joint winner of the top scorer award last weekend as her 20 goals in 19 games proved enough for Barcelona.
The former Liverpool Ladies forward had struggled for fitness for a large part of the season, but was clinical despite the challenges she faced.
In spite of missing eleven games during the league season and suffering a 2-month injury layout, Oshoala has had a good season, winning the league title with Barcelona Femeni, qualifying for the final of the UEFA Women’s Champions League final and still in the semifinal of the Copa De La Reina.
“I have had a rollercoaster of emotions this year. I have laughed, cried and smiled. Mentally it is really draining, but this is professional sport and things happen,” she told DW in an event.
“At the end of the day, I just want to be happy at the end of the season.”
