WATCH: Despite Liverpool’s hammering of Manchester United, Klopp not interested in ‘humiliating’ rivals

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp has played down the 4-0 defeat of Manchester United, which gave them a 9-0 aggregate win this season over their old rivals.

The Red Devils were without their superstar Cristiano Ronaldo who announced the death of his twin son on Monday night.

Mohamed Salah scored a brace while Sadio Mane and Luis Diaz contributed a goal each in the demolition at Anfield Road.

“I’m not here to humiliate opponents or whatever,” Klopp said after the game. “We did what we had to do and we won the game. That’s how it is.”

The victory put the Reds two points above champions Manchester City who play on Wednesday.

Manchester United have shown interest in signing Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen in order to shore up their fortunes.
