Manchester United in ‘surprise’ move for Super Eagles star

The Red Devils are one of the biggest clubs in the world and could make a big-money move for one of Nigeria’s most exciting footballers in the summer

Transfer market expert Antonio Giordano is convinced that Victor Osimhen would not say no to Manchester United should they make a ‘surprise’ move for the Napoli ace before next season.

Osimhen is reportedly wanted by half of Europe’s richest clubs following his positive development at Napoli, where he has scored 11 Serie A goals and four more in the Europa League. Last year in his maiden campaign in Italy, the 23-year-old managed only ten league goals while making no impact on the continent.

Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal, and Real Madrid have been linked to the Napoli forward recently, with Newcastle reportedly offering 100 million euros for the Nigerian in January.

The new English moneybags could return for Osimhen in the summer with an improved bid, but Antonio Giordano believes the Super Eagles star will refuse to head to St James’ Park.

Giordano is surprised, though, that Premier League giants Manchester United are also keeping a tab on Osimhen, and the transfer guru expects the youngster to find the Red Devils’ offer, if it arrives, to be too tempting to refuse.

“Osimhen is followed by half the world, and it is true that Newcastle showed 100 million in January,” Giordano told Canale 8 via TuttoNapoli.

“But in my opinion, if the English club returns, the Nigerian will not go. But then it is also necessary to check what Newcastle will do, what team they will do, what coach I will take on, and what contractual offer they will present.

“Meanwhile, Arsenal never stopped following Osimhen and, surprisingly, Manchester United.

“In the personal imagination of a 23-year-old player, United is a temptation, and if the Red Devils reach certain figures, history teaches that certain operations must be done. At certain figures, it is madness not to sell.”

Osimhen has four goals in his last two matches for Napoli.

My advice is that Osimhen should remain in Napoli for a minimum of one year if he desires to join the EPL. He needs to hone his playing/scoring skills to enable him succeed the grittier pattern of play of the English style of football. The reason Manchester City is surviving is the skills the coach has introduced to the players style, which is a mix of Spanish and English styles. Osimhen, as an attacker, will need to enrich himself with a lot of skillful experiences in addition, to be able to survive and excel for a long time in the EPL. Yes, his physicality is ideal for the English style of play, but skill will always see him through the opposition rank. He must understand/learn a little from the lessons Barcelona taught Napoli the last time they met. That lesson is a very important one.
    * Top to medium clubs Osimhen must not consider joining are, MANU, Arsenal, Tottenham, and Newcastle. Their problems come from a legacy management nature, and not that of the caliber of players. He will fizzle out soon if he should join any of the above clubs.
We do not know what Chelsea’s fate would be in the absence of Abramovich. That would have been the ideal place for Osimhen, especially with guys like Tuchel in charge. Abramovich’s style of business is much better for running a sporting outfit instead of that of permanent fixation on profit.
That has helped Chelsea to grow steadily from the Rudd Gullit days when late Director Matthew Harding held sway before selling out to Abramovich.
Osimhen must not make the mistake of going after big money to join the club’s which name I mentioned earlier, unless he wants his career to be short-lived. Take a good look at MANU’s Spanish goalkeeper once rated one of the three best in the world. He was consistently his country’s first choice, until the problems began within the structure of the club’s organisation. He failed to see the red flag telling him to leave while he was still good…

    You’re right bro,
Osimhen should never make such a carrier ruining mistake of joining those English clubs aforementioned most esp MANU, TOT, ARS.
. But Newcastle is certainly a very good option considering the readiness of the owners to invest massively.

But while doing so , he should also look out for other quality and known players they’re ready to sign alongside because a player of his calibres are not supposed to be outside European competition for two or three seasons. But Newcastle certainly have a good ambition with visible direction
