Two Super Eagles players were nominated for the competition’s player of the week after the first leg
Cyriel Dessers’ important brace against Olympique Marseille was key to Feyenoord’s victory on the day and could be the single most impactful performance in this week’s Europa Conference League.
After the impressive display against the Ligue 1 side, Dessers has been nominated for the Europa League Player of the Week award.
The second Nigerian to be nominated for the awards Ademola Lookman was also a vital presence for Leicester as they were forced to a draw at the King’s Power Stadium.
Leicester fought back from behind in the game and had Lookman running to restore hope until they got one. The Nigerian international scored the leveller for the Foxes as they head into the second leg still having their fate in their hands.
Others who were nominated for the award are Dessers’ Feyenoord teammate Sinistera and Roma’s Lorenzo Pellegrini.
While Dessers scored twice from his five goal attempts, Lookman scored once and had a 86% pass completion.
Dessers is the top scorer in the Europa League this season.
