The former Enyimba boss was banned from football some years ago, but he is back in the Super Eagles fold
The Nigeria Football Federation(NFF) has appointed former Enyimba boss Salisu Yusuf as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles B (CHAN team) as well as the U23 (Olympics) team.
In a bid to ‘rejuvenate’ Nigerian football after the Super Eagles’ failure to qualify for the World Cup, the NFF sacked all coaches in the male setup.
However, they have employed new gaffers for the teams. Still, only a few changes were made, as some of the coaches are returning to their previous jobs.
Yusuf was handed a one-year ban from football by the NFF four years ago after he was found guilty of accepting bribe, but he soon got back his job in 2021.
In the release by the NFF, Yusuf retains his spot at the helms of affairs of the Super Eagles team B, and he will be assisted by Kennedy Boboye Fatai Osho, Abubakar Bala Mohammed, and Fidelis Ikechukwu. Eboboritse Uwejamomere will be the Match Analyst; Ike Shorounmu, and Suleiman Shuaibu will serve as Goalkeepers’ trainers.
In the Under-20, Ladan Bosso retains his position as Head Coach. He will work with former U17 Head Coach, Fatai Amao, Oladuni Oyekale, and Jolomi Atune Alli. Baruwa Olatunji Abideen will serve as Goalkeepers’ trainer.
At the U13/15 level, Patrick Bassey will be Head Coach and he will work with Abdullahi Tyabo Umar, Mohammed Kalli Kachalla, Ifeanyi Uba, and Mohammed Kwairanga. Abubakar Abdullahi will work as the Goalkeepers’ trainer.
