Napoli President was left stunned by the team‘a capitulation on Sunday and is demanding an explanation

Aurelio De Laurentiis is as at the Napoli training ground on Tuesday as he spoke to coach, Luciano Spalletti and demanded explanations for the embarrassing defeat to Empoli on Sunday.

Napoli led 2-0 at Empoli until the 80th minute but a seven-minute goal rush from Empoli dealt a fatal blow to the Partenopei title ambitions, barely a week after losing the lead at home at the death to AS Roma.

A disillusioned De Laurentiis was at the Castel Volturno Sports Centre to watch the team train and assess proceedings.

Napoli fans and management were disappointed  with the outcome on Sunday and were left as stunned as the players.

The reason for the President’s presence was also to understand why the team is suddenly facing a bad run. Radio Kiss Kiss reported that he watched the entirety of the training session and had a long conversation with Spalletti.

De Laurentiis has also invited the entire squad to a dinner where they are expected to talk about their struggles over the past three games.

Since defeating Atalanta, Napoli have suffered a home loss to Fiorentina, drawn Roma and lost to Empoli in a fashion they’d come to rue for a long time.

Osimhen had attempted to confront fans after the Empoli game as they booed the team, but was held back by Juan Jesus.
