Ex-Super Eagles star joins Super Eagles technical crew

Former Super Eagles star has been appointed a new coach of the team.

Current Enyimba coach and former Nigerian international, Finidi George has been appointed new assistant coach of the Super Eagles.

Finidi’s appointment was revealed in a statement by the NFF on Thursday following the announcement of new coaches for the various national teams.

The former Ajax winger has been head coach at Enyimba since the beginning of the season and has had a mixed start to his coaching career in Nigeria.

A statement by the NFF said; “The NFF Executive Committee has also approved the recommendation of the Technical & Development Sub-Committee for the new Head Coach to work with Coach Salisu Yusuf (whenever he is available from Super Eagles B/U23 Team duties) as 1^st Assistant. Former Nigeria international Finidi George will be 2^nd Assistant, with Usman Abdallah as 3^rd Assistant. Eboboritse Uwejamomere will be the Match Analyst and another former Nigeria international, Ike Shorounmu will be the Goalkeepers’ Trainer.”

Finidi was part of the 1994 AFCON-winning Super Eagles team and represented Nigeria at two World Cups. He is dubbed arguably the best winger in Nigeria’s football history but is still learning the ropes as a coach having obtained his license in Europe.
