Victor Osimhen has been linked with Newcastle for most parts of the season but the Magpies may not come forward with a move
Newcastle United may not be making any expensive move according to the team’s coach, Eddie Howe.
Howe in his press briefing said the expectations and resolutions of fans ahead of the summer transfer window may be too high for the team at the moment due to their financial restrictions.
Newcastle’s Saudi owners spent £90m in the January transfer window as they brought in five players into the team.
Howe said they may not be making a similar cash splurge when the transfer window reopens in the summer.
“I am happy with this squad while acknowledging that time never stands still.
“You have to continue to improve and evolve so I have no problem looking outward and saying we do need certain things.
“But I do not think it will be the revolution that everyone thinks it will be, and it can’t be because we are under financial restrictions.
“It is not just a case of signing anybody, and that would never be the way I work anyway because every individual has to fit within the structure of the team and make the team better, not just the individual,” Howe said.
Osimhen’s agent also revealed the Super Eagles attacker is happy at Napoli and may not be making a move soon.
