Bicycle Kick: Ikpeba reacts to Osimhen’s comments on criticism

Victor Osimhen didn’t take Victor Ikpeba’s comments on his bicycle kick attempts lightly as he insulted the former African Footballer of the Year.

Former Super Eagles attacker and former Monaco star, Ikpeba has reacted to the comments and insults by a section of the fans of the Super Eagles and Osimhen after his last criticism of the attacker’s bicycle kicks.

Ikpeba had on Monday Night Football criticised the attacker for not taking his time to make better use of the ball in the game against Ghana when half chances fell to his feet.

He however in the same vein hailed Osimhen for being hungry and said if Nigeria had four of his kind, the Super Eagles may have qualified for the World Cup.

Osimhen in his tirades shaded the former Borussia Dortmund attacker and called him names.

Reactions to Osimhen’s tirades and Ikpeba’s comments have divided opinions amongst fans and journalists in the country but the 1994 AFCON-winning Ikpeba said he cares less about reactions and will always constructively criticise young players and the Super Eagles.

“We want the best for our young players. We sitting down here, we want to be constructive in our analysis to our viewers, to our fans that follow Monday Night Football.

”I will never shy away from being critical or have a constructive criticism of our national team when we talk about the English Premier League. I’ve moved on. The show must go on,” Ikpeba said.
