Super Eagles attacker, Victor Osimhen has said the pool of talents in the Super Eagles, squad depth and the quality on the bench will be vital to helping Nigeria clinch a World Cup ticket at the expense of Ghana.
Osimhen in an interview with NFF TV said the World Cup means a lot to him and the rest of the team and it will be important for them if they make it through.
“It means a lot to me, not just me, the whole team, ” Osimhen said.
“We’re really looking forward to this game coming up on Tuesday and like I always say, it won’t be easy. No game is easy in Africa because it’s very physical but of course, to be able to win a World Cup ticket will mean a lot to this team.
“I think we will be playing with our twelfth man and with their support, we have chances of getting this World Cup ticket. It won’t be easy and we have to respect the Ghanaians. They have some great quality players also. But we’re ready.
“We have great quality too. Individual talents that can win games for us and we have a good squad depth. On the bench we have quality players that can come in and get the job done for us. We are looking forward to this game as a group.”
Nigeria will host Ghana in front of a potentially sellout crowd at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on Tuesday.
Winner of the tie will play at the World Cup to be held later this year in Qatar while Nigeria must avoid a score draw as there’s the away goal rule still in play.
The Super Eagles forced Ghana to a goalless stalemate at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi on Friday and will be looking to progress at the expense of their age-long West African archival.
