Victor Osimhen and teammate Fabian Ruiz were doubts earlier in the week as they came out of the Lazio game with varying degrees of worries.
Osimhen was seen with the rest of the squad as Napoli returned to training ahead of their top-of-the-table clash against AC Milan. The Neapolitans currently lead the pack in the Serie A level on points with Milan.
The Luciano Spalleti side returned to train at the Castel Volturno, the first session since their defeat of Lazio. According to Corrierre Dello Sport, an Italian daily, Osimhen was seen in the gym with the rest of the squad and is undergoing functional recuperation ahead of Sunday.
His injury concerns won’t be an issue as he looks fit for the game against Milan at the Estadio Diego Armando Maradona but needs his load being sustainably maintained.
Osimhen is expected to play in front of a 75%-filled capacity at the Maradona for the first time on Sunday and it’s left to be seen if he will score his first goal against any big Italian side.
The attacker has been a protagonist for Napoli this season as they’ve impressed with him on the pitch. Since his return from injury, he has scored two important goals against Venezia and Cagliari and gives the Napoli attack a different dimension.
Osimhen has scored seven times in seventeen Serie A games this season.
