The Nigerian centre-back will not be in the matchday squad when the Cucumber Growers travel to Lezama
Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo will miss Leganes’ gameweek 28 Segunda Division clash against Amorebieta on Monday due to suspension.
Omeruo received his fifth yellow card of the season in the 33rd minute of Leganes’ faceoff against Real Zaragoza last weekend.
The 28-year-old had also been booked in games against Alcorcon, Huesca, Lugo, and Ibiza earlier in the campaign.
One of the most experienced heads in the Leganes squad, Omeruo has helped his side keep two clean sheets in three of the matches he has featured in since his return from the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
The 2013 Afcon winner, who has one goal in 12 league appearances this term, will be a massive miss when the Cucumber Growers go up to the Instalaciones de Lezama Campo 2 to face struggling Amorebieta.
Leganes have found it tough this season, winning only eight of their 27 league matches.
Still, the Spaniards are just nine points away from the last promotion playoff spot, and a fine run in the final months of the campaign could see them sneak into the top 6.
