The Everton midfielder had his best game in a while as the Toffees secured their first league win under Frank Lampard
Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi was brilliant as Lampard secured his first Premier League win as Everton boss with a 3-0 victory over Leeds United at Goodison Park.
Iwobi has come under intense criticism in the last few weeks for his below-par performances for both club and country.
However, he delivered an impressive shift in Lampard’s first league game at home. The 25-year-old made five key passes and had a pass accuracy of 85%.
He was also diligent in his defensive duties, winning six duels, three tackles and making one interception. It was indeed an all-round display that must have left a good impression on his new boss.
Everton went into the game on the back of a 3-1 defeat to Newcastle and no league win since December. But they started quickly against Marcelo Bielsa’s men as Seamus Coleman put them ahead in the tenth minute.
Micheal Keane then gave breathing space when he doubled their advantage in the 23rd-minute. The Toffees rounded up a dominant performance when Richarlison fired in a third 12 minutes from time.
Although Everton stay in 16th place despite the win, they are now only one point behind Leeds, who have played a game more.
