The Nigerian international is reportedly on the radar of the Villans as an alternative to Mali international Yves Bisssouma
Super Eagles star Wilfred Ndidi has responded to reports linking him with a £50m (₦28.3b) from Leicester City to Aston Villa.
Soccernet had reported earlier that Villa manager Steven Gerrard is considering making a move for Ndidi in the summer as an alternative to Bissouma.
However, it may prove difficult after Ndidi revealed he is not thinking of leaving Leicester because he is enjoying his stay at the club.
Ndidi joined the Foxes in January 2017 and has gone on to become one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League and the world.
The 25-year-old’s performances have been key to Leicester success in recent years, although they have had a disappointing campaign this season so far.
Ndidi’s displays have not gone unnoticed among top clubs in Europe, with Villa the latest side to be linked with a move for the Nigerian.
But speaking ahead of Leicester’s 4-1 win over Randers in the Europa Conference League, the ex-Genk man reveals he does not see himself leaving the King Power Stadium at the moment because of many reasons.
“At the moment, I am enjoying myself in Leicester,” Ndidi said as per Talksport.
“My family is here. My business degree was on hold because, at the time, it was during lockdown, and then my daughter (was born). But I’m looking forward to it maybe next year.”
Ndidi’s current contract with Leicester runs until 2024.
