The former Nasarawa United man follows the footsteps of his predecessors after he secured a move to a European side after an impressive season in the league
Last season’s Nigeria Professional Football League joint-highest goalscorer Silas Nwankwo has sealed a move to Swedish Allsvenskan side Mjallby AIF.
The Nigerian star was one of the best players in the NPFL last season. He scored 19 goals for Nasarawa United, and his feat was only matched by Akwa United’s talisman Charles Atshimene.
The 18-year-old striker scored almost a third of Nasarawa United’s goals, helping the Solid Miners to a fourth-place berth, narrowly missing out on continental football due to an inferior goal difference.
However, Nwankwo joins the long list of NPFL strikers who moved abroad immediately after winning the Golden boot.
Swedish Allsvenskan side Mjallby have announced they have swooped in for the youngster. The striker signed a four year deal with the 2019 Swedish second-tier champions.

Mjallby gained promotion to the Swedish top-flight three seasons ago, and they finished ninth in the Allsvenskan last season.
