The Super Eagles just crashed out of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations, but one of their players not included in the squad could be on the move
Super Eagles forward Simy Nwankwo has been linked with a move to Italian Serie B side Parma.
The 29-year-old joined newly promoted Salernitana from Crotone, who got relegated last season, on a one-year loan deal last summer.
But so far, he has hardly been brilliant for the Garnets. Simy has just one goal in 19 Serie A appearances, a sharp contrast to the 20 he poached last season.
However, his performance is just a reflection of his team, who have lost 18 of their 22 Serie A games, and sit rock bottom of the Italian top-flight.
Nevertheless, Salernitana are ready to let go of the Simy, as Diario de Transferencias, as per Nico Schira report that the Nigeria international is close to sealing a six-month deal with Parma.
Simy Nwankwo está muito perto de reforçar o Parma por empréstimo válido até ao final da temporada, com cláusula de obrigação de compra, proveniente da Salernitana, adianta o jornalista @NicoSchira. pic.twitter.com/geCgbdV8y1

If the move goes through, it would be a massive step down for Simy, as Parma currently sit 13th on the Serie B table, three points away from relegation waters.
