The 23-year-old Nigerian attacker ahead of the established football stars in the latest study carried out by the CIES
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is the 77th most expensive player in the world according to the latest International Centre for Sports Studies- CIES.
The 23-year-old is ranked above superstars like PSG record signing Neymar and Manchester City stars Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish.
Napoli signed Osimhen from Lille two years ago for a club-record fee, and after a tumultuous first season which limited the former Under-17 star to just ten goals in 30 appearances, he has since gone past that and is now an integral part of the Napoli setup.
The CIES report is taken twice a year, and within the last six months, Osimhen has been outstanding for both club and country. He has scored 16 goals in his last 22 appearances games for club and country.
According to the CIES report, Osimhen is worth 56.7million Euros(26.4billion Naira), while Neymar, Grealish, and De Bruyne were valued at 56.1million, 55.5million, and 54.6million euros respectively.
The values of the players were calculated using the exclusive econometric approach developed by the CIES Football Observatory research team.
Meanwhile, Vinicius Junior, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland, Mason Greenwood and Florian Wirtz all ranked in the top five, respectively.
Vinicius was ranked as the most expensive player in the world at 166.4 million Euros, Foden at 152.6million, Haaland at 142.5million, Greenwood at 133.9 and Bundesliga star Wirtz at 133million Euros.
