The 22-year-old picked up an injury in the Neapolitans training last weekend ahead of the clash against Salernitana on Sunday
Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen returned to training on Monday following a calf injury that ruled him out of the win against Salernitana on Sunday.
Osimhen picked up a calf injury in the Neapolitans training on Saturday and subsequently missed the league clash against The Garnets.
After undergoing a test, it was revealed that the Nigerian international suffered a gastrocnemius contracture in his right calf.
However, Osimhen has now made progress in his recovery after taking part in training on Monday. According to Claudio Russo, the former Lille man did custom work on the pitch as Napoli continued to monitor his progress.

But despite returning to training, Osimhen is still a doubt for Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde.
According to Tutto Napoli, Osimhen will not be risked for Napoli’s Europa League clash against Legia Warsaw. At the same time, his progress will also be monitored ahead of the league game against Hellas Verona on Sunday.

Should he miss the clash against Verona, he is likely to withdraw from Nigeria’s squad for the two games.
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has already come in for criticism from some sections of the Italian media for including the 22-year-old in his squad.
Put Awoniyi on standby…he is the best attacker we have now.
