Nigeria International and FC Randers striker Stephen Odey have been awarded the October Danish Player of the month. The 23-year-old has taken the 2021/22 season by storm with impressive outings for the Danish side.
Odey scored three times for Randers in October. He also found the back of the net a couple of times in the Europa Conference League.
Soccernet had earlier reported the nomination of Odey alongside two others for the award.
However, the striker’s outstanding form earned him the October player of the month award in the Danish League.
Odey, who is on loan at Randers from Genk, has scored 11 goals from 15 appearances in all competitions this season. His club currently sits fourth in the Danish Super League table.
Despite his form, Stephen Odey does not look closer to a national team call-up anytime soon. The Nigeria team boasts of quality attacking options currently, and it would be difficult for Odey to break into the squad.
The player has made only three caps for the Super Eagles men since 2017. He last featured for Gernot Rohr’s men three years ago.
