The transfer window may be over, but The Yellow Canaries are already planning for the next window, which opens in January
Turkish giants Fenerbahce are looking to secure the services of Trabzonspor’s talisman Anthony Nwakaeme in the next transfer window.
The Nigerian striker has been in scintillating form for Trabzonspor since his €1.1m transfer from Hapoel Beer Sheva in the summer of 2018.
His fantastic ability to carve out spaces from nothing and bully defenders have seen him rattle the net 37 times in 117 appearances for the black sea storm.
Nwakaeme has been so good for Trabzonspor that in a show of appreciation, his statue was mounted at the Senol Gunes stadium.
However, the Fenerbahce hierarchy seems unfazed by his seemingly unmovable status at Trabzonspor and are looking to secure the services of the 32-year-old.
With his contract set to expire in June next year, BBO sports report that the Fenerbahce hierarchy plan to secure the services of the Nigerian.
Nwakaeme has made only one appearance for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, which came in a 2018 World Cup qualifier against Algeria.
However, it does not count in FIFA’s record as Algeria were given a technical 3-0 win after the Super Eagles fielded an ineligible player.
