The Flying Antelopes are preparing for the start of the new season and have added some new players to their squad, including a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner
Rangers International of Enugu have revealed they’ve reached an agreement with former Super Eagles star Ejike Uzoenyi over a return to the club.
The Flying Antelopes revealed in a statement that Uzoenyi would be joining their other new additions ahead of the new Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) season.
The statement read: Rangers has successfully negotiated a deal with former winger and member of AFCON 2013 winning team in South Africa and Nigeria’ Super Eagles team to the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brazil, Ejike Uzoenyi, to bring his experience to help the team achieve its target for the coming season.
The Nigerian international returns to Rangers, having played for the club between 2008 and 2013. Uzoenyi was a member of the Nigerian team that won the 2013 Afcon in South Africa.
He was one of the home-based players in the squad, coming as a substitute in the 4-1 win against Mali.
The 29-year-old was also in the squad for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, playing for 15 minutes in the 1-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Uzoenyi has had quite a journeyman career, having played for clubs in France, South Africa, Bosnia and Montenegro.
He joins Rangers for his second spell from Montenegro side OFK Titograd of Podgorica.
