How Chukwueze’s AC Milan vs. Genoa stats boost starting XI prospects

Samuel Chukwueze moved from Villarreal CF to join AC Millan during the 2023 summer transfer window but has earned limited playing time

Super Eagles attacker Samuel Chukwueze grabbed the spotlight with a standout performance during AC Milan’s Serie A clash against Genoa, as reported by Soccernet.ng.

During his 81 minutes on the pitch, Chukwueze showcased his playmaking prowess by providing a crucial assist to open his team’s scoring account in their 3-3 draw at the San Siro.

His ability to create scoring opportunities was evident in his five key passes and one big chance created, consistently putting pressure on the opposition’s defense.

Chukwueze’s impact extended beyond offense as he displayed defensive diligence by winning ground duels and making a key tackle, highlighting his commitment to both ends of the pitch.

With his exceptional dribbling skills, the former Villarreal star troubled Genoa’s defense, completing four successful dribbles out of six attempts. His adeptness at taking on defenders and driving the ball forward bolstered his team’s attacking play.

Despite facing tough opposition, Chukwueze maintained an impressive pass accuracy of 79%, efficiently distributing the ball and linking up with his teammates to maintain momentum.

While his performance earned praise, Chukwueze also exhibited discipline and maturity on the field, drawing minimal fouls and showing restraint in his offensive movements.

Former AC Milan goalkeeper Mario Lelpo praised Chukwueze, suggesting that a fit player of his caliber should not be left on the bench. He advocated for Chukwueze’s inclusion in the lineup for upcoming matches, and emphasized his potential to make a significant impact.

“I would say that profiles like  Chukwueze  who have always come in very well, have shown he is fit but then aren’t put on the field by the coach should be feared; with all respect for a champion like  Giroud,  now that he’s leaving I’ll let him play his farewell match (against  Salernitana ) and I’ll let someone else play this one; if I have to say a name, apart from  Leao  who obviously does what he wants, he decides whether to win the match or not, whether to overshadow himself or not, another who can split the matches could be  Chukwueze ” he said as quoted by Notizie Milan.

With their Serie A title hopes dashed by Inter Milan, AC Milan now have three games left in the season, and Chukwueze will aim to finish the campaign on a positive note.
