‘He needs to improve because he is young’- Former Real Madrid coach on Osimhen

The Super Eagles star has had an incredible start to the new season, but there’s still room for improvement, according to an ex- Los Blancos manager

Former Real Madrid manager Fabio Capello has praised Osimhen’s goalscoring qualities but says the 22-year-old still has a lot to learn in the game.

Osimhen has been in brilliant form since he returned from a one-match ban following his dismissal in Napoli’s opening game of the Serie A campaign against Venezia.

The Nigerian international has scored six goals in his last four games for the Neapolitans. Osimhen opened his account with a brace that helped Napoli come back from two goals down to secure a draw in their Europa League clash against Leicester City.

He then opened his Serie A account in the 4-0 win over Udinese before scoring a brace in a similar scoreline victory over Sampdoria.

Osimhen continued his impressive form on Sunday night as he scored his fourth league goal of the season in Napoli’s 2-0 win over Cagliari.

But despite his brilliant form, Capello insists the former Lille man still needs to improve, although he praised his role in Napoli’s perfect start to the season.

“Napoli started well, they had not very difficult matches, but they proved to be a team, the former Juventus coach told,” TMW via CalcioNapoli24.

“It will be difficult to beat. I saw an important conviction.  They have always been among the first, the race is still long, and the direct clashes will be fundamental.”

“I had foreseen, however, that Napoli would be among the best. They have changed little and have quality. Plus Osimhen scores a lot, he has to improve because he is young, but in the future, it will be very important, he added.”

Osimhen’s goal last night makes him the joint-highest goalscorer in all competitions in Europe’s top five leagues this month.

He will be eager to round up the month in brilliant fashion when Napoli host Spartak Moscow in their second match in the Europa League this season on Thursday.
